A global name. A Leeds operation. A proper engineering environment.\nThe Role\nBased at the Wortley, Leeds site, you’ll play a key role in the assembly and testing of bespoke OEM machinery to precise customer specifications.
This isn’t repetitive production work — you’ll be involved in problem solving, supporting less experienced colleagues, and contributing to non-conformance investigations. If you’ve got depth as a mechanical fitter, there’s room to use it.\nDay-to-day responsibilities include:\n * \n Assembly and testing of OEM machinery to meet customer requirements and engineering drawings\n * \n Delegating and supporting semi-skilled colleagues on non-complex assembly tasks\n * \n Carrying out Operator Asset Care and maintaining 6S standards\n * \n Escalating parts, drawings, routings, and machine faults through the correct channels\n * \n Participating in non-conformance investigations using 5Y/8D methodology\n * \n Following stock control procedures accurately\n * \n Providing on-the-job training and support to apprentices and new starters\nAbout you\nWe’re looking for an experienced mechanical fitter who takes quality and safety seriously. You’ll need:\n * \n Apprentice-trained or NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline\n * \n Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar mechanical assembly or fitting role\n * \n Confident reading engineering drawings, assembly instructions, and standard operating procedures\n * \n Experience working to tight tolerances in a precision engineering environment\n * \n Familiarity with 6S, lean manufacturing, or structured problem-solving tools (5Y/8D an advantage)\n * \n Any background in metal forming, press tooling, or industrial OEM machinery is a distinct advantage\n * \n Flexible, proactive, team-oriented — and someone who doesn’t need to be told twice to escalate a problem\nHow to Apply\nThis role is available now and likely to move quickly.
