Team Leader
Location: Leigh
Rate of Pay: £14.50 per hour (weekly or monthly pay available)
Shift Pattern: 34 hours on shift, nights and days and two hours admin.
Contract: Fixed term (12 months)
We are currently recruiting for anenthusiasticand experienced TeamLeaderin Healthcare tosupportthe delivery and coordination of a specialist care package for a ten-year-old girl living at home with her parents in Leigh.
She has DiGeorge syndrome and requires round-the-clock support from a consistent team. She is non-verbal, so you will learn to understand her individual communication cues, with full specialist training provided. She is a warm and engaging child who enjoys baking, sensory play, music, Disney films, and pampering, and is supported by a loving extended family. She has complex clinical needs, including ventilator dependency via tracheostomy, epilepsy, dystonia, scoliosis, visual and hearing impairments, and has a J-Peg for nutritional and fluids.
This is a rewarding healthcare leadership role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to a childs quality of life while supporting and guiding a small care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality personal care and clinical support in line with individual care plans.
- Support the effective coordination and delivery of the healthcare package alongside management.
- Complete 2 hours per week supporting management with administrative and leadership duties.
- Supervise, support, and guide support workers to ensure consistent standards of care.
- Learn and respond appropriately to the childs non-verbal communication cues.
- Support engagement in meaningful activities and community-based outings.
- Work collaboratively with the family, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured care environment.
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and routines are followed and regularly reviewed.
Experience and Skills Required of a Team Leader
- Proven leadership experience within a healthcare or complex care setting
- Experience managing and supporting a small care team.
- Demonstrated experience in working with tracheostomies, PEG feeding, and ventilators
- Strong background supporting individuals with complex clinical needs
- Strong understanding of risk assessments, care planning, and regulatory compliance
- Previous experience completing healthcare-related administrative duties.
- Kind, patient, caring, reliable, confident, and professionally consistent.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to individual communication and care needs.
- Comfortable engaging in sensory, creative, and play-based activities as part of holistic care
- Confident working within a family home healthcare environment
- Ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
